Dennis M. Lynch

Candidate for ISBA 3rd Vice President

Dennis M. Lynch has been an active and dedicated member of the Illinois State Bar Association for more than two decades. His service to the ISBA reflects a longstanding commitment to improving the profession and supporting lawyers across Illinois. Dennis has served on the Board of Governors, chaired multiple committees, and contributed extensively to policy discussions shaping the practice of law statewide. He currently serves on the Tort Law Section Council, the Civil Practice Section Council, and the Bench and Bar Section Council, and he continues to play a vital role in mentoring attorneys and advancing the ISBA’s mission.

Dennis is the owner of a small law firm with offices in Chicago and Joliet. His firsthand experience managing a working law practice gives him a deep understanding of the challenges attorneys face in balancing caseloads, technology, and personal life. Before establishing his firm, he spent nearly two decades as a trial lawyer representing injury victims throughout Illinois and neighboring states. His practice spans multiple counties and federal courts, focusing on personal injury, wrongful death, and complex civil litigation.

Throughout his ISBA service, Dennis has helped shape significant reforms. As Chair of the Special Committee on Election Procedures, he guided efforts to modernize the ISBA’s own internal election systems—work that became crucial during the pandemic when in-person procedures were suspended. As Chair of the Special Committee on the Statute of Repose, he helped address inequities that left some attorneys unprotected when selling their practices. While serving on the Board of Governors, he supported the adoption of the Uniform Bar Examination and advocated for expanding access to technology and cloud-based practice management.

Dennis’s commitment to the legal community extends beyond the ISBA. He has served on the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice’s Interstate Trucking Litigation Group and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Society of Trial Lawyers, the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association, the Justinian Society of Lawyers, and numerous county bar associations. He is also an Illinois Bar Foundation Gold Champion.
